Western Australia’s restaurant and bar scene is about to be elevated with the launch of The Aviary, a sophisticated two-storey urban hospitality venue and home to Perth’s largest rooftop bar, The Nest.

Officially launching on 9 November, The Aviary will offer a variety of social vistas including The Birdcage restaurant and circular lounge bar on level one, and a vibrant outdoor rooftop bar. The dynamic spaces have the capacity to entertain up to 600 guests. Offering a bird’s eye view of Perth’s CBD skyline, The Nest is an open-air rooftop paradise boasting a bowling green, trees, AstroTurf and decking – sure to be the top of Perth’s bar pecking order this summer.

The Publican Group which is behind some of Australia’s most successful bars including WA renowned hotspots The George and The Byrneleigh, has once again created a venue with a unique visual element including aviaries framing the entrance, one-off custom-made hummingbird carpet and custom designed wallpaper. The Publican Group’s Directors, John Ahern and Steve Garcia, identified a gap in the Western Australian hospitality market several years ago. The opening of their third WA venue, The Aviary sees their growing portfolio of quality venues in the State.

“We wanted to create a sophisticated urban playground for Perth’s social and business establishment – a place to unwind after work or on the weekend,” Mr Ahern revealed. “The Aviary is a contemporary and stylish space and its rooftop location will take advantage of Perth’s amazing weather,” Mr Ahern added. Caroline Watson, The Publican Group’s WA Operations Manager, said that guests can look forward to summer days and evenings spent in the fresh, inspiring surrounds of this unique and playful new venue which overlooks Perth’s Murray Street Mall. “The Aviary’s restaurant, The Birdcage, encompasses the amazing tastes that Western Australia has to offer with its simple yet distinctive seasonal menu created from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Its affordable wine list showcases some of the best varietals from regions at home and abroad and there are also bird inspired cocktails on the drinks menu, “Ms Watson said. “The Aviary is an ideal venue for an array of functions whether it be on its rooftop, level one or the entire venue. The Aviary opens seven days a week, 11.00am – midnight Monday to Saturday and 11.00am – 10.00pm on Sunday, from 1 November 2011.
