Henry & Aaron selected as Bondi Short Film Festival finalists

West Australian short film Henry & Aaron’s Perfectly Adequate Christmas Special has been selected as one of 14 finalists at the 11th annual Bondi Short Film Festival, to be held in Sydney on Saturday 26 November 2011.

Selected from over 200 submissions, the finalists represent some of Australia’s most talented independent filmmakers. “Each year we are blown away by the exceptional quality of submissions and 2011 is no different. It was really difficult to choose just 14 finalists from so many amazing films. I’m really looking forward to presenting the final selections to our audience.” said Festival director, Francis Coady. Written by and starring WA filmmakers Henry Inglis and Aaron McCann, directed by WA Young Filmmaker of the Year 2009 Antony Webb and produced by Lauren Elliott, the film gained international attention when it secured over 14,000 YouTube hits in a matter of days last Christmas. “It’s great. Scary, funny - the perfect bedtime story!” said legendary Australian comedian and former Doug Anthony All Star, Tim Ferguson.

Henry & Aaron’s film, touted as ‘Christmas meets Hostel’ will be judged by a panel of film industry heavyweights in award categories including Showtime Movie Channels ‘Best Film’, Getty Images ‘Best Cinematography’, Lenovo ‘Best Actor’, The Coady Group ‘Best Music’, Les Jamelles ‘Best Script’, Spectrum Films ‘Best Design’ and ‘People’s Choice’ with the total prize pool valued at over $10,000. Inglis, Webb and Elliott will be flying over to Sydney to represent the film on the red carpet. A second West Australian film, Something to Tell You written & directed by Pete Gleeson and produced by Gleeson, Melissa Hayward and Kate Neylon has also been selected.
