ARE YOU WA’S HOTTEST PLAYWRIGHT? YOU COULD WIN UP TO $3,000! So, the question is... Are you up for the challenge? We are looking for Western Australia’s hottest playwright to write monologues based on the topic ‘Modern Gods’ with a performance duration of between 8 to 10 minutes maximum. You can be as creative, entertaining, funny or dramatic as you like, but stay sharp and stay on point! Writers must deliver their original monologue with five identical hard (typed) copies to His Majesty's Theatre by 5pm Friday, 2 March 2012.

If your entry is selected by our panel of Maj Monologues Competition judges, your monologue will be performed live as part of a five night performance season, DownStairs at the Maj in May 2012. The winners in each category will be announced following the final performance on Saturday, 5 May 2012. The Categories and Prizes are: Judges' Choice $3,000, Australia Post Peoples’ Choice $1,000 and the Astrid Jackson Encouragement Award $500.
